A Pennsylvania woman, 32, is facing some very serious charges after a run-in with the police. They claim that she was driving while under the influence (DUI) and that she then tried to evade arrest when they attempted to apprehend her.
Per reports out of Lancaster County, a police officer saw the woman’s car run a stop sign at about 2:25 a.m. on April 21. He then attempted to pull her over. She kept driving for a time, and the officer pursued her car. Eventually, she pulled over to the side of the road, but she still refused to get out of the car.
In the end, officers were forced to remove her from the car through physical force, and they say that she resisted arrest and threatened to bite them. They were still able to get her out of the vehicle, though, and they took her to the Lititz Borough Police Department. There, she was given a breath test, and it put her blood alcohol concentration (BAC) at 0.183%. That’s well over the legal limit.
In addition to the DUI charges, she is now facing charges for eluding and fleeing police officers, resisting arrest and more. Her bail was set at $10,000. She paid it and was released from custody.
A case like this shows how quickly a situation with police can spiral out of control. These types of charges can have a massive impact on the rest of a person’s life, and they absolutely need to make sure they know all of the legal defense options they have.
